Training Terms and Conditions - Scheduled and Public Courses

The following details the terms & conditions applicable to our scheduled and public courses.

For the purpose of these terms and conditions the meaning of the word ‘course' shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, training, seminars, workshops, lectures, individual and group coaching, and information surgeries.

The descriptions for the courses are as generally set out in ebis's then current Training Prospectus which is available on request. ebis reserves the right to improve the specification and format of its courses for the benefit of its Clients without notice to the Client.

The course will be delivered at ebis's nominated Training Facility as advised to the Client. ebis reserves the right to nominate a reasonable alternative venue where necessary and will advise the Client of this.

Course fees include delegate materials, use of appropriate facilities, lecturer's time, refreshments and any room or equipment rental we undertake. Where relevant, examination fees and other related expenses will be charged to delegates if agreed in advance.

The copyright and all other intellectual property rights in all course materials, and the specifications thereof shall remain the sole and exclusive property of ebis. The Client undertakes that it will not copy or permit the copying of course materials, nor disclose or permit the disclosure or sell or hire the same to third parties, nor use the same for running the Client's own courses.

ebis reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course if the number of attendees is insufficient to justify running the course, or if ebis is prevented from doing so by events beyond its reasonable control, including in particular, but not limited to, illness of lecturing staff.

In the event that ebis cancels or reschedules any course, ebis will notify the Client forthwith. ebis will, in addition, refund in full all monies paid by the Client, or at the Client's option apply the monies to a re-scheduled, or alternative course. ebis accepts no liability for travel, accommodation or incidental costs incurred by the Client in the event that any course is cancelled or rescheduled.

The Client warrants that all delegates on courses are properly authorised by the Client to attend and that they are suitably qualified to attend. The Client acknowledges ebis's right to refuse admission or require the removal of any delegate where there are doubts about identity, qualifications or if the delegate's behaviour is unacceptable.

ebis will accept a substitute delegate from the client provided that they have the relevant experience and/or qualifications (if required for the particular course). In order for the substitute to be accepted, ebis must be notified in writing no later than two working days prior to the commencement of the course, in order that appropriate changes to accommodation, facilities, materials, and security arrangements can be made, as applicable. If changes to arrangements result in additional charges being levied to ebis (eg to accommodate delegate's special requirements) these will be passed on to the client.

In no circumstances will ebis be liable to refund any amount in excess of the agreed fee for the course in question. This applies in particular (but is not limited) to any travelling, subsistence or consequential expenses incurred by delegates.

Once a booking has been accepted, cancellation charges apply to scheduled and public courses as follows:

  • Within 30 days of the course 25% of agreed fee
  • Within 14 days of the course 50% of agreed fee
  • Within 7 days of the course 100% of agreed fee

In exceptional circumstances it may be possible to waive all or part of the above charges if the client wishes to transfer the course to alternative dates. Such a waiver is at the sole discretion of ebis and does not constitute a waiver or variation of any other term or condition.

Following a cancellation, any course materials sent out in advance must be returned to ebis. If they are not returned, the client will be liable for the full cost of the course.
